2022 Event Summary

January
Join us for a Bonfire Kick-Off Event January 1 from 1:00 -4:30pm at Hillsboro-Deering High School.  Enjoy snowman making, painted snow, sledding, ice skating, crafts, face painting, and a vintage snowmobile display.  Hot chocolate and snacks will be available for sale.

February
Vintage Costume Ball February 12 from 6:30-9:30pm at the New Hampshire National Guard Armory. 1920s theme, band music, dancing, costume and beard judging contests, and a photo booth. Learn how to Charleston, Shimmy, and Fox Trot!  Food and beverages for sale, free entrance.

March
March 12th a Corned Beef Dinner served by The Methodist Church at the Middle School starting at 5:00pm, $10.00 entry fee, take out meals ready for 6:00pm. Celebrate Hillsborough’s Scots/Irish Heritage.  Live music, pub songs, learn to Jive in FIVE minutes!

April
Farm and Garden themed events on April 9 starting at 10am will include: Easter Egg Hunt and Easter/Spring hat display and decorate your own all in Butler Park, Farm Tool Display by the Hillsborough Historic Society, Peter Rabbit Reading and seed starting at Fuller Public Library, Farmsteads of New England farm open, Town-wide Clean-Up, and a Bee Workshop (Tuesday, April 5 at 6:30pm at Fuller Public Library).

May
Celebrating our Ancestors May 14 will start with a reading of the War Lists and Patriotic Music at Fuller Public Library at 10am with a Tree Planting/Time Capsule to follow, Artisan Show in the Hillsborough Center, and a Founding Families Picnic at Grimes Field with food trucks available. The first four Tuesdays in May Fuller Public Library will have programs on each Village in Hillsborough at 6:30pm.

June
The Hospitality of Hillsborough, June 25, join us for a BBQ at noon followed by a Water Ski Show at 2pm at Manahan Beach, Pierce Lake.

 

July
Hillsborough Summerfest will run July 7-10 at Grimes Field.  Neighborhoods, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to enter a float in the parade on July 10, celebrating Hillsborough’s 250 years! Click the link for the parade application! Community Parade – Hillsboro Summerfest

August
Wrestling Event August 19, 7pm at Hillsboro-Deering High School. Tickets will be for sale. History Alive will be August 20-21 at Historic Hillsborough Center, Kemp Park, and Jones Road if you’ve never attended you won’t want to miss a Vintage Baseball Game, dozens of activities and reenactments, tickets available online here: Tickets – Hillsborough History Alive

September
School Days September 10 events starting at 10am: school tours, bus tour of Hillsborough, walking tour of Downtown with Trivia and Prizes, Town Clean-up, Pie Eating Contest and Hurricane Video shown at Hillsboro-Deering Middle School.

October
Haunted Hillsborough, October 8 at various venues: Kemp Park BBQ and Apple Cider Tasting 11-3pm, Spirit Walk with Spirit Medium Karen Tatro 6-7pm, Haunted Cemetery Walks at 4:30pm and 7pm, and a Barn Dance and Music to follow all in the Historic Hillsborough Center.

November
Being Thankful will include the reading of the Town Charter November 12 at 2pm followed by a concert by the Town Band, at Fuller Public Library. Celebrate the birth month of Franklin Pierce and the Town of Hillsborough with a cupcake.

December
Decorate the Villages contest is open to everyone in Hillsborough! Neighborhoods, individuals, and businesses can join the fun, prizes will be handed out, just email us your address! Olde Fashioned Christmas December 3, join our Progressive Scottish High Tea Party from 3-5pm. Hogmanay (Scottish New Year’s activities) will start December 31 with a Torchlight Parade starting at 5pm followed by fireworks and a bonfire at Grimes Field.
